Late-night craving for Seafood Horfun... satisfied!

It's been a while since I last dined at Choy Kee's so I went there last night because I was craving a nice seafood noodle dish. I think one of the best noodle dishes that I often order from this place is the Horfun. It's the texture of the noodles that made me always go for this dish. It's flat and wide. The sauce was a thickened broth filled with tiny pieces of scrambled egg. It clings well to the noodles which makes every piece of noodles tasty in every slurp.

I ordered the Cantonese-style Seafood Horfun.

It's very similar to the regular seafood Horfun aside from the darkened sauce. I think the Cantonese style has added some kind of soy sauce to make the sauce darker. The ingredients are the same but the taste slightly differs. It's my first time to try this dish because I often go for the regular version.
 


The variety of the seafood toppings is the one that makes this dish worthy of its S$6.50 price tag. It's satisfying and it's a good value for money.

As I mentioned earlier, I like the wide & flat noodles because it soaks the flavor of the dish which makes it tasty for every slurp. Another good aspect of the dish is the way it was cooked. It was stir-fried in a Wok which gives it a nice "char" flavor.

This version of Horfun is darker because I think that during the stir-frying, a small amount of soy sauce is added to achieve this color and tastier noodles.

The best way to enjoy this meal is to combine the noodles and toppings in a spoon, together with the sauce, and then add a small piece of green chili to add a tangy flavor. A spoonful of it feels like a celebration in my mouth. It's a delicious bite!

It's so nice that the Seafood stall is open until 10:00 in the evening. It's a good option for some late-night cravings.
