Here I am again to share one of the simplest, tastiest, and most balanced dishes in the Philippine Cuisine. This dish is very easy to prepare and is quick to cook. I think this is one of the most popular dishes here in our country. This dish can be seen all over the country because it is very easy to prepare and is very quick to cook.
The dish is called "Pork and Snow Cabbage Soup". Most of the time this dish is cooked with "cabbage" only, if cabbage is not available snow cabbage can be used as a substitute. Also, most of the time we always add potatoes on this dish but it can be omitted. Most of the time I like to add Snow Cabbage and Potatoes to this dish.
The preparation time for this dish is about 5-7 minutes. Cooking time is about 10-12 minutes. That's how easy and quick this dish is to prepare and cook.
Ingredients
- Pork (300 grams)
- Potatoes (4 pieces, medium)
- Snow Cabbage (100 grams)
- Onion (1 pc, red, medium)
- Ground Black Pepper (5 grams)
- Salt
Preparing the ingredients
I just washed the snow cabbage with water, removed the excess white stem, and then cut it in half
I just cleaned all the potatoes with water and peeled them
I just peeled and sliced the onion
I prepared the pork in advanced
I prepared the ground black pepper
How to cook
1. I just combined all the ingredients in a bowl (except the snow cabbage) and I added about 1 liter of water. I added some salt, I added more water so that there would be a lot of soup left to boil the pork and become tender. And then I let it boil in high heat
2. When the pork is already tender I added all the snow cabbage and then I boil them again
3. When the snow cabbage is cooked turn off the heat
4. Put some in a bowl and serve. This can be eaten on its own or partnered with rice
