Challenges at Any Age - Driving Lessons / 何歳になっても挑戦 - ペーパードライバー教習

The other day I heard that by repeating one small challenge every day, even small steps at first can accumulate like compound interest and we can improve our skills more than we imagine. That is certainly true.

By chance, I was able to take refresher driving lessons at a nearby driving school this month, and I have been taking lessons since last week. Today I took my fourth on-the-road lesson. I can now start a car and switch gears much more smoothly. However, I still get nervous when leading the car at intersections. My kind relaxed German teacher said that I can drive on street by myself after about two more lessons. In addition, I can practice speaking German language during the 90 minutes 😁

This week, my daughter has a cold and my partner is on a business trip, so I was able to take only one more lesson on Friday. So it will be next week, when I can start driving by myself.

It's nice to increase the things I can do by myself. In life, no matter how old we are, we can always learn and challenge something new.

先日、毎日一つ小さなチャレンジを繰り返すことで、最初は小さなステップでも複利のように積み重なって大きく成長できるという話を聞きました。確かにそうですよね。人生、いくつになっても勉強と挑戦。

今月ひょんなことから近所の運転教習所でペーパードライバー教習を受けられることになり、先週からペーパードライバー教習に通っています。今日は4回目の路上教習を受けてきました。マニュアル車の発進やギアの切り替えも随分スムーズになりました。でもまだ交差点で先頭の時にドキドキだったりで、先生曰くあと二回くらい教習を受けたら一人で路上に出ても大丈夫とのこと。

今週は子供が風邪で相方が出張で、金曜日にもう一度教習を入れられましたが、一人で運転し始めるのは来週になりそうです。

いずれにせよできることが増えるってうれしいですね。先生とは90分ドイツ語なので、車が運転とともにドイツ語の練習にもなっています。
