Electric Escapade: Zooming Up to Genting in a Tesla Model 3

Throwing back to an remarkable trip up to Chin Swee Temple with @joannewong, @vaelriey, @awesomianist and his brand-new, striking red Tesla Model 3—it was his maiden voyage to Genting Highland. We embarked early in the morning, eagerly anticipating the journey, yet soon found ourselves amidst the early traffic. It was the pre-festive Raya season, and many were heading back to their hometowns on the East Coast, adding to the festive hustle.

After about an hour navigating through the bustling lanes, we finally veered off towards the Genting exit. Much to our relief, the road here was clear, boasting minimal traffic and dry tarmac—an ideal testing ground for the Tesla's capabilities. As we ascended, we noticed several construction sites signalling the upcoming expansion of shopping malls and commercial spaces, hinting at the future transformations this area was poised to undergo.

Upon reaching the top, we were welcomed by a serene blue sky, radiant with warm sunshine yet accompanied by a gentle cool breeze—perfect for an outdoor escapade. Parking directly in front of the pagoda tower, we disembarked to explore the surroundings. The temple stood majestically, a peaceful sanctuary offering a splendid view that stretched endlessly into the horizon.

The trip was a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of the city center, just an hour away yet worlds apart in tranquility. It was a delightful experience to witness the blend of modern innovation with the timeless beauty of Genting Highland’s landscapes, all accompanied by good friends and crisp, refreshing air.
